Lake Jocassee is a stunningly clear lake known for its undeveloped shoreline and clean water. The lake is bordered by glorious green forests. Let the kids swim at the sandy beach. Rent stand up paddleboards, flatwater kayaks, life jackets, or water gear. Love to fish? Fishing guides can take you to the best fishing spots. The lake’s visibility makes it popular for scuba diving, and several companies offer Jocassee dive trips. Lake Jacossee is also home to several amazing waterfalls that can only be reached by boat.

Jocassee Gorges' dramatic landscape will take your breath away. In as little as a mile, the elevation abruptly drops 2,500 feet from a blue wall of mountains to the rolling hills of the Piedmont. This topographical phenomenon is known as the Blue Ridge Escarpment.
The mountain spring-fed Lake Jocassee encompassed by the Jocassee Gorges, waterfalls accessible only by boat and some of the best South Carolina trout fishing are all part of the allure of Devils Fork State Park.
The land around 7,565-acre Lake Jocassee remains mostly undeveloped and the only public access point to the lake is through Devils Fork. Four mountain streams and several waterfalls feed into the lake, making it cooler than others and a great South Carolina trout fishing spot.
With some of the most stunning views of the Blue Ridge Mountains South Carolina has to offer, Keowee-Toxaway State Park is truly one of South Carolina’s pretty places.
Located 21 miles north of Walhalla in Sumter National Forest, the hatchery is open to visitors daily. Allow about 1.5-2 hours for your tour which consists of the Hatchery Building, walking around the outdoor fish raceway and feeding the fish. After your tour, make a day of it and you can picnic in the shady Chattooga Picnic Area which is adjacent to the hatchery. There is a barrier-free fishing pier, accessible in the East Fork which runs through the hatchery grounds.

Chattooga Belle Farm is a 138-acre working farm and event destination boasting a stunning 270 degree view of rolling hills, vineyards, orchards and berry patches among the backdrop of the majestic Blue Ridge Mountains.
Offering over twenty different fruits for U-pick opportunities, a picturesque 18-hole Disc Golf Course, and an observation circle for astronomers, the farm attracts a variety of outdoor enthusiasts.
Oconee State Park has all of the perks of a relaxing mountain getaway. The Rustic, CCC-era cabins and a lake with a swimming hole, canoe rentals and fishing opportunities are only a sample of the park’s offerings.
The trailhead for Oconee Station Falls is also located inside the park.
Several wooded nature trails wind through the foothills region and serve as the southern trailhead for the Foothills Trail, South Carolina’s 77-mile wilderness hike on the Blue Ridge Escarpment.
The Chattooga was designated a wild and scenic river in 1974. It is one of the longest and most spectacular free-flowing mountain rivers in the Southeast. This 23 mile trail includes some of the most amazing scenery you will ever see.
